What Do Colours Make You Feel

Yellow is a bright and cheery colour. It builds self-confidence and a good attitude. It's associated with clear thinking, good judgment and decision-making. Yellow helps with organization and being able to see different points of view. A dull yellow is indicated of the colour of fear.

Orange is a jolly colour that releases emotions. Stimulating the mind, orange puts an interest in life. Feelings of self-pity and lack of self worth are disappeared.

Pink is a colour of love and passion. It's a colour for soothing and calming emotions. Feelings of aggression and irritation are lessened, and a sense of safety and love surrounds us. Vulnerability and loneliness disappear along with hopelessness.

Blue is a calming colour that is peaceful and relaxing. Inspiring creativity and clarity, blue has many links to feelings with all the different shades. Light blues and sky blues make us feel quiet and safe. Midnight blue is even more calming then normal shades of blue. It can also help us to connect to our spontaneous side. Yet, if the blue gets too dark it can become a depressing colour and not a peaceful one.

Red is a colour associated with ambition and vitality. It's a strong and powerful colour, but it can make us impatient and uncomfortable because it's connected to anger. Red can help overcome negative thoughts, but too much isn't good.

Green is a colour that helps us connect to the natural world and to others with empathy. It is a colour of relaxation, calmness, soothing, laziness, and comfort. Balancing emotions, green is a very peaceful colour. Darker green is a colour that is unassertive and is a refusal of joy and love. Lime green is a colour of envy and resentment. Olive or muddy green shows decay and is almost too simple.

Purple and Violet are colours that combat shock and fear and bring peace. They are connected with mystery, musical impulses, sensitivity, inspiration, creativity, beauty, and compassion.

White is a colour of purity. It brings peace and comfort and a sense of protection. Feelings of shock and despair are replaced with feelings of freedom and openness. Yet too much white can become isolating and cold.

Brown conquers insecurity and brings a sense of stability. Bottled up emotion and narrow mindedness link to this colour.

Black is a colour of mystery and protectiveness. It is related to silence and the feminine life force. Black can also stop us from changing and growing.
